Lemuel P. Grant's neighborhood is home to Zoo Atlanta, the Cyclorama and the 131 acre park that bears his name. The park was donated to the city in 1883, but development of his surrounding land did not take off for another decade.
Today the neighborhood is home to more than 2,000 historic homes, predominately of the Queen Anne and Folk Victorian styles.
Businesses and restaurants occupy renovated stores and warehouses spread throughout the neighborhood. Favorites included Six Feet Under, Daddy Dz', Grant Central and Dakota Blue.
In August, enjoy the Summer Shade Festival in the park featuring local and regional artists, live music, food and beer.
Getting around town is never a problem, Grant Park has direct access to I-75/85 and I-20 west and north, and the future Beltline on the south and east edges of the neighborhood.
